Dry
The plants that are most capable of surviving very dry conditions
Woodland
trees are smaller, further apart and closer to plains
Forest
Trees are taller, closer together and closer to mountains
Upper forest
Above 350 m altitude
Alpine
Above 1500 m altitude

F A Height to 10 cm, flower stalks to 50 cm. Flowers 2 mm wide incluster of 10 to 15 between Sept and Dec. Coloniser of open spaces. Edible seed, caroway flavour plus tinge of Eucalyptus.

Origin: dry; woodland, forest, upper forest. Variable, hardy shrub to 2m tall with clusters of curved, variably red, yellow, pink or orange (or combination) flowers between Aug and Dec. Flowers resemble a cat’s claw. Very drought and frost hardy.
